Brenda Marshall
Brenda “Sam” Marshall, known to many as “Flower,” has been sharing God’s love through laughter since 1981, when a simple request to serve at Vacation Bible School sparked a lifelong calling in clown ministry. What began with a borrowed costume quickly grew into a passion for excellence, leading her to formal training and deep involvement in the clown community. Over the years, Flower has ministered across the United States and in more than a dozen countries, using joy, creativity, and connection to reach audiences of all ages with the message of Christ.
A respected leader and teacher, Brenda has served in key roles within major clown organizations, including as the first female president of Clowns of America International. She has taught clowning and ministry at conferences, colleges, and camps across North America and beyond, equipping countless others to use their gifts for the Kingdom Impact. Her Influence extends through her writing as well, including her book, “Sharing God’s Love Through Laughter,” which encourages others to embrace their unique calling in creative ministry.
Brenda’s heart for ministry is evident in her global outreach, hospital clown programs, and decades of service in children’s and church ministry settings. From mission trips and international teaching to co-founding a therapeutic clown program in a major children’s hospital, her work has consistently pointed people to hope and healing through Christ. With a lifetime of experience, numerous honors, and a legacy of faithful service, Brenda continues to inspire others to present the unchanging message of the Gospel in ever-creative ways.
